Birtstone October *** Exclusive 14K Wild Forest – Boulder Opal Pendant
At first, Wild Forest looks like earth. And then you move her. Electric green and turquoise suddenly cut through the dark brown ironstone like light finding its way through a dense forest.
From another angle, those colours almost disappear again. That's what makes Boulder Opal so fascinating to me: there is always something hiding underneath what you first see.
Wild Forest feels like a tiny piece of untouched earth, dark, raw and suddenly illuminated from within. For trusting what grows quietly. Not everything needs to be visible yet. Some things need darkness, time and roots before they find the light.
BOULDER OPAL
Boulder opal is the kind of stone you can keep looking at. The longer you look, the more it reveals: blue, green, violet, red, gold… tiny flashes of light that seem to move as you turn the stone.
It reminds me of the cosmos. Galaxies, the Milky Way, and light travelling through endless space. And at the same time, it is incredibly earthly.
Boulder opal forms within ironstone, deep in the earth, over an immense span of time. The natural ironstone remains part of the stone, creating the dark, earthy landscapes between those almost otherworldly flashes of colour.
Earth and cosmos in one stone.
Maybe that is what draws me to them so much. Those flashes of light almost feel like energy made visible. Something you cannot really hold onto or explain, but somehow you can feel it. A tiny piece of earth, carrying a glimpse of infinity.
Every Boulder Opal is formed differently by nature. Its colours, patterns, ironstone and flashes of light belong to that stone alone, making every pendant a completely unique piece.
This opal is set in 14K solid gold.
Size of this piece: 2.9 cm x 1.7 cm
This pendant comes with a gold-plated Venetian necklace. The 14K Gourmet Necklace shown in some of the pictures can be purchased separately. We have intentionally made the connecting eye large enough for the pendant to be worn on most necklaces.
