Cosmic Dust might be tiny, but look closely.

Her earthy brown and grey surface is scattered with flashes of violet, blue and lavender that seem to float inside the stone. Almost like looking through a telescope at a faraway galaxy, tiny points of colour suspended in an enormous darkness.

BOULDER OPAL

Boulder opal is the kind of stone you can keep looking at. The longer you look, the more it reveals: blue, green, violet, red, gold… tiny flashes of light that seem to move as you turn the stone.

It reminds me of the cosmos. Galaxies, the Milky Way, and light travelling through endless space. And at the same time, it is incredibly earthly.

Boulder opal forms within ironstone, deep in the earth, over an immense span of time. The natural ironstone remains part of the stone, creating the dark, earthy landscapes between those almost otherworldly flashes of colour.

Maybe that is what draws me to them so much. Those flashes of light almost feel like energy made visible. Something you cannot really hold onto or explain, but somehow you can feel it. A tiny piece of earth, carrying a glimpse of infinity.
